BRO Staff Spotlight: Meet Clarissa

Each week we will spotlight one of our talented team members here at Blue Ridge Orthodontics. This week’s BRO spotlight focuses on our Financial Coordinator in our Hendersonville office.

This team member has been to a really interesting country, she can play a bowed string musical instrument, and one of her favorite pastimes include animals. So, are you ready to check out what makes this team member so special?

Everyone, Meet Clarissa!

Fun Fact about you:

I have a concentration in Regional Studies (For Western North Carolina) and can play the fiddle. I took lessons for almost 7 years and have played at festivals in Virginia and North Carolina. (However, I stopped playing in college, and haven’t touched a fiddle in a few years.)

What is the most unusual or interesting thing you’ve ever done?

Wow, this one is hard! I went to Israel for 14 days for my highschool graduation/senior class trip.

Tell us about your role at BRO:

I work in the finance department. When patients come in for treatment the finance department helps to verify any insurance benefits, we make initial contracts, and help patients with different payment plans. I also work with our Impressions program!

What are 3 words you would use to describe BRO?

Community- BRO is founded in community and the charitable giving that we do through BRO means a lot to me!

Family& Giving- These two kinds go with one another. I love that BRO has always been so supportive to staff. One of my favorite things is being able to have an additional day off (we generally work 4 longer days) so that we have more time with my kiddos. This is especially great in the summer months.

What is your favorite aspect about BRO?

Two programs at BRO that I really love are Blue Star and the Cleft Lip and Palate programs. Both these programs help patients who might not be able to get care otherwise. I think BRO works really hard to make every patient feel comfortable at our offices and for all appointments.

Where would we typically find you outside of BRO?

Outside of BRO I am spending time with my family. My boyfriend and I have two kiddos, Jersey who is 8 and Malcolm who is 1. We also have two dogs, Noni and Pumba. We really enjoy taking the kids to zoos and aquariums. It is one of my favorite things to do when I go on vacation, I love finding the local zoo!
