Blue Ridge Orthodontics is an orthodontic and oral surgery practice serving Western North Carolina families from three offices in Asheville, Hendersonville, and Brevard. We’ve been straightening smiles across the mountains since 2007, and we’re a Diamond+ Invisalign provider, ranked in the top 1% nationwide.
Giving back is one of our core values. Through our Blue Star Program, we commit $250,000 a year in orthodontic care for local children who can’t afford treatment, and we’ve set a goal of giving $5 million back to Western North Carolina.

Why age 7? At that age, children have a mix of baby and permanent teeth, which lets an orthodontist spot developing problems early.3 Most 7-year-olds don’t need treatment yet. Each year, our orthodontists accept nominations for children in Asheville and nearby communities who need orthodontic care but can’t afford it. Beyond Blue Star, our team has partnered with organizations including Mission Children’s Hospital, Big Brothers Big Sisters of WNC, Habitat for Humanity, and Hope Chest for Women, and we sponsor local events and fun runs across the region.

No. You can book a free consultation with us directly. If your dentist referred you, we’ll coordinate with their office.
The American Association of Orthodontists recommends a first check-up no later than age 7. Most children don’t start treatment that early. We monitor growth and recommend treatment only when the timing is right.
All orthodontists are dentists, but only dentists who complete an accredited orthodontic residency can call themselves orthodontists. That advanced training focuses entirely on aligning teeth and jaws.
