BRO Staff Spotlight Meet Barbara
Each week we will spotlight one of our talented team members here at Blue Ridge Orthodontics. This week’s BRO spotlight focuses on one of our Orthodontic Assistants that you may find around our Asheville location!

Everyone, Meet Barbara!
Fun Fact about you:
I was born in Sao Paulo Brazil, and when I was 2.5 years old my family moved to Orlando FL, and then we moved to Asheville NC when I was 10, and I have been here ever since! I’m 24, so I’ve spent most of my life here in Asheville!
What is the most unusual or interesting thing you’ve ever done?
One of the most interesting things I’ve ever done was go on a boat tour in Charleston, SC when I was on vacation. I was able to see a beautiful sunset, learn about the history of Charleston, along with seeing dolphins out in the wild which I never saw before! It was a beautiful and relaxing experience and I highly recommend it!
Tell us about your role at BRO:
As an orthodontic assistant I walk patients through appointments and perform tasks such as adjusting braces, bonding brackets, delivering appliances, bonding Invisalign attachments, taking records, etc. Assistants are responsible for completing all tasks as instructed by the Doctor and gathering all the necessary information to help each patient feel confident in every stage of their orthodontic treatment.
What are 3 words you would use to describe BRO?
I would describe BRO as fun, rewarding and caring! We have an amazing Blue Star program that helps provide orthodontic care to patients who cannot afford it, and help them achieve a lifelong beautiful and functional smile ! We have the most advanced technology that allows us to be able to provide the best orthodontic care for our patients!
What is your favorite aspect about BRO?
The diversity of the work staff, we have so many different kinds of people with all different kinds of personalities and backgrounds which makes the office a fun place to work!
Where would we typically find you outside of BRO?
If I’m not at work, you can find me at the gym working on becoming a better version of myself, or starting a drawing/painting project at home , that I won’t stop working on until it is done (which sometimes can take up to 10-12 hrs! ) But on a chill day, you’ll find me cuddled up on the couch with one of my three cats, watching scary movies and eating a warm home cooked meal!
